We like to keep an eye on wedding trends and pass them along to you!
I reached out to some of my local designer and bridal boutique owner friends for their input on wedding trends for 2017. Most wedding planning begins with the dress, and we will begin right here as well!
Wedding Dress: color underlays and interesting sleeves
Rachel Wilkins, owner of The Bride Room which is located next door to our Nashville showroom, let us know the wedding dress trends for 2017 are color underlays, sleeves, & memorable details like low backs.
Wedding Trivia: Queen Victoria began the tradition of brides wearing white on her wedding day in 1840.
Color underlays are all the talk for wedding season & we love this nude/blush option. Via Pinterest.
Long sleeves & low backs are all the rave this wedding season.
Flowers: Dusty Muted Tones
Bridal Bouquets: Personal Elements and “gathered from the garden” shapes
According to Erin Banzakein of Floret flowers, dusty muted tones are popular for the bridal bouquets as well this year and the tight, ball-shaped bouquets are a thing of the past. Brides are opting for more large, lose and lush bouquets instead. Unique finishing touches like antique lace, a sentimental charm attachment or hand-dyed ribbon streamers are also trending.
A turquoise necklace from ExVoto Jewelry with and antique locket holding a loved one’s photo wraps the handle of this bridal bouquet. Something new, something old and something blue all at once.
A bridal bouquet locket with hand-engraved monogram from ExVoto Jewelry attaches to the bouquet for the ceremony and then to a necklace base to be worn thereafter.
Wedding Cakes: “Barely there” Cakes
Groom Cake: Themed Cakes
“The classic soft whimsical up-style is always a favorite. While faux braids are unexpected, they add some fun edge to wedding styles. I always love when brides want to branch out and try something different. High Ponies are also coming in hot!”

Wedding Rings: stacking bands, colorful gems and vintage inspired rings
According to The Knot, the typical diamond is no longer the only way to go with bride’s opting for yellow diamonds and colored gemstones in their ring settings. Rose gold, stacking bands and vintage styled rings are also trending for 2017.
The 14K Gold Vine Ring by ExVoto Jewelry cast from an antique Victorian wedding band and can be stacked with other bands.
The 14K Gold Winthrop Ring by ExVoto Jewelry is also cast from an antique Victorian wedding band and makes another great option for adding to a stacked ring set.

Wedding Trivia: Prior to World War II, male wedding bands were not as common as they are today. American men chose to wear these rings while fighting overseas to remind themselves of their wives and families back home.
For grooms in 2017, wedding bands with texture and customization are updated options to the traditional simple gold band.
The Patrick Ring and the Basket Weave Ring from ExVoto Jewelry are both nice options for a man’s wedding band. Both styles are cast from antique rings. The Patrick Ring can be engraved as a signet ring with either initials or a meaningful date making it highly personal.

Trending: Mother of the Bride & Groom Gifts
A sweet wedding trend that we have seen popping up is the giving of a sentimental gift from the bride or groom to their mothers.
Several brides have gifted their mothers with our Molly Slide Pendant on Keller Necklace and custom engraved a personal message inside.
Gifts for the Wedding Party: Personalized
According to our friends at The Knot, personalized gifts are the top gifts to give your bridesmaids and groomsmen.
